• Use the dark, colder evenings to plan for the year ahead. Plan your seed sowing for the year so you are ready at the right time with seeds, compost and trays.
• Remove any damaged or black spot leaves from hellebores so you are ready to enjoy the delightful flowers as they appear over the next few weeks.
• If you haven't finished in the autumn, choose a bright sunny day to tidy up any remaining leaves or debris from the garden so it doesn't affect spring bulbs coming though.
